A primitive fusion energy generator
There are two parts for such an engine: generating energy and converting it to electricity.
As for the latter part, instead of using heat and steam power to turn a turbine, we should find a better way of conversion, such as the cells used for automatic doors. The energy generated by first part is no different from light that we use in solar energy.
Now for the first part, generating energy, the idea is to convert some matter into energy. Someday we will be able to convert matter to energy in a controlled way. Until then, instead of blowing up one another, why not use that kind of energy for making our lives better.
Store chemicals X and Y in boxes, like we do with butane gas. The generator can steadily mix them and generate energy that can be directed towards electricity generating cells. The result of chemical reaction, Z, can be collected in a box for safe disposal.
People can purchase boxes of chemicals X and Y for replacement, as they do with gas. Now gas is naturally available. We may need energy to produce X and Y. Well, factories can use wind and solar energy for that matter.
So basically, instead of generating electricity at one plant and sending it to homes or from city to city, those plants can use wind, dam and solar energy to produce X and Y, and each home or building can have its own fusion generator.
This idea came to me while visiting little Cyrus for his third birthday, April 1, 2025.
